CVEN/EVEN 489: Fundamentals of Air Quality

This course provides a comprehensive overview of air pollution. Topics covered include: 1) chemistry and physics of atmospheric pollutants; 2) sources, sinks, and controls; 3) atmospheric transport, transformation, and models; 4) health and environmental impacts; 5) air quality standards, monitoring, and management; 6) climate change; 7) indoor air pollution.

CVEN 607: Engineering Aspects of Air Quality

This graduate-level course examines the chemistry and physics, sources, transport, transformation, impacts, monitoring, modeling, regulation, and control of gaseous and particulate air pollutants. Topics include atmospheric stability and dispersion, source–receptor relationships, health and ecosystem effects, climate interactions, indoor air pollution, measurement methods, and emission control technologies. Students will apply Python, InMAP-ISRM, and HYSPLIT to analyze air pollution transport and support air quality management.
